A metrologist trained in this program has the knowledge base to begin performing pressure calibrations at a beginning level. This individual may need specific training on lab standards at their place of employment.

The recipeint is knowledgeable in the following areas:

Science of Temperature- Basic knowledge in the science of temperature measurements to include temperature SI units, thermal conductivity, temperature scales and types of temperature variables. Ice Point and Triple Points of Water are also covered and demonstrated.

Thermocouples- This training teaches all about thermocouples, types of thermocouples, junctions, ITS-90, and considerations for onsite calibrations.

Resistance Temperature Detectors (RTDs)- This training teaches all about the considerations, build, types and curves for RTDs. We talk about 2, 3 and 4 wire applications.

Thermistors- We also cover thermistors and their differences from RTDs. We talk about both NTC and PTC, interpolation charts and other calibration considerations.

Thermocouple Calibration Demonstrations- This training shows the calibration of both a thermocouple probe with a readout, as well as a sourcing calibration of a temperature read out.

RTD Calibration Demonstrations- This training shows the calibration of an RTD probe as well as sourcing of the different types of RTD signals to a readout.

Final Quiz- Must be successfully completed with an 80% or better on a graded quiz.
